Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated

No, I haven’t passed away. No, I haven’t melted away and become a spaceship. No, I haven’t turned to the dark side and started coding ASP from a Vista computer.

Yes, I have been away. Yes, it was a great time. Yes, I will be going away again.

I’m sorry for not posting for one heck of a long time, but lets just say I’ve had my reasons. And since you will want them spelled out, explained and cut up into tiny pieces, here’s a quick run-through.

And next Monday I have to start military-service which I will serve at Danish Emergency Management Agency (Næstved office) because I don’t feel like running around with guns, but I do feel like running around fighting fires.

As a result of this I haven’t had, nor will I have, a lot of time for coding and updating my blog. I just picked up coding again last Sunday - with a hibernation-period of almost three months.
I have been adding features to Uniteit and doing some bug-fixing in Pundit. The most substantial feature I got done was the ability to rate comments digg-style. Of course it works via AJAX, and not just your standard “lets call rate.php with the comment id”-AJAX, no. It calls the API I have been getting into shape for just this very reason. Wacky fun. I really must write some more on this whole “Let’s create an API, Flickr-style, it really can’t be that hard” thing because it is, IMHO, pretty nifty.

I’ll see if I can’t get comment-posting via AJAX done before I start at DEMA, but hopes are not out, should I not have time enough. I will be bringing my laptop with me and continuing the coding from there.
