I’ve been quite the busy-bee today having already goon to see three shows and having one more left later in the evening. And I only caught the first show at 15:00! I didn’t really do anything till 15:00 though. Spend most of the time strolling up and down The Mile talking to some of the guys from the shows I’ve seen. I got some (hopefully) great poster-boy and -girl photos for my collection of said photos.
I also found some of the guys from The Black Tie Band and help them hand out some fliers. They were great fun and well - I didn’t have anything to do.
Let’s move on to the reviews for today..
Heroes and Villains by Guy Incognito. This comedy was hilarious. I knew nothing of the show only that the actor handing out fliers had on a great costume.. Apparently it has been a sell-out for 8 days strait now, but since the venue was fairly small this isn’t the hardest trick in the book. Some of the jokes were fairly English-imbred as they contained references to contemporary Britain I didn’t quite catch. But all in all this show was great fun and worth a visit.
Bouncy Castle MacBeth at Rocket @ Roxy Art House. This show was _far_ out but in a fun way. Their scene was a big bouncy castle and they was jumping, tumbling and running around on the fairly wobbly ground while performing MacBeth. You pretty much laughed all your way through the play which resulted in you not being able to follow the story were well. I can safely say that I know pretty much nothing of the play MacBeth but I don’t care, for I have seen the bouncy castle and I am please with that. Really, this show is hilarious and you owe it to yourself to catch a showing.
The Matrix: The Pantomime by 2 Shades of Blue. Talk about cutting up a play, throwing up all the pieces and catching a few bits here and there, out of order. This show was not unlike the original Matrix but in so many ways not like it at all. It was a bit too pantomine’ish for my tastes with all the audience booing and shouting, but the jokes and wordplays made up for it. These guys really put some love into the scripts and had a great finish and delivery of their jokes.
Now - how to spend the next hour and a half while waiting for the next play on my schedule… Hmm. Update: The time was spent, and I saw the show which started after a fairly big delay
A Big Night Out by The Blues Brothers Banned. This was quite the show. The music, the moves, the jokes all fitted together very nicely to create one big, loud show that really blew you away. One drawback was that it was nearly too loud as it was hard to make out what they were saying in the microphones from time to time.
I also tried to make some plans for my last two days here, and so far these include 4 plays each day. Sure to be some great days…

Another day well taken care of here in Edinburgh. I started out by visiting The Castle as I woke up fairly early. I wasn’t impressed. Maybe because I’ve already seen it once, maybe because I didn’t take a tour. But it was 11 pounds!
I then strolled around on The Mile trying to get inspired [...]

As mentioned at my previous post, I had thought about going to Edinburgh for a short while. Well - I stopped thinking, started doing. So here I am - in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Had to get up at 04:40 in the night to catch my 06:55 plane to EDI, but I thought it wouldn’t matter much because [...]

And as a side effect I am now a fully [...]
